2010 Maribor race Report by Team Santa Cruz Syndicate

Greg Minnaar (Santa Cruz Syndicate/SRAM/RockShox), starts off the UCI World Cup downhill season with a big win. He put together a brilliant run to win the season opener in Maribor, Slovenia in the most dismal conditions on a course Greg would describe as "the hardest course I've ever ridden because of the mud and rain." Teammates Josh Bryceland and Steve Peat strung together less than optimal runs for disappointing 16th and 45th positions respectively. 2010 Atherton Project Episode One

This premiere episode starts positively as we hear Darren Roberts, the Atherton's trainer, explain how for the first winter in two years the family are actually all fit and healthy and ready to tackle the season ahead. We also learn of the family's specific goals for 2010, in particular Dan's goal of racing BMX this year, and aspiration to make the British BMX Olympic Team. With a slew of new kit and new bikes, we follow the siblings to the Maxxis Cup in Gouveia, Lisbon for the first race of the year. Will one of them get off to a flyer and get a podium finish?
