CRC/Nukeprood Testing The Scalp In Spain

We’ve just received this super video edit of Team ChainReactionCycles/Nukeproof riders Matti Lehikoinen, Matt Simmonds and Joe Smith during pre-season training in Malaga, Spain.

It was a great opportunity for the riders to tweak and test their brand new race-issue Nukeproof Scalp bikes on the dry and dusty tracks in the region.

Watch the riding video now, courtesy of Salvador Moreno and Francisco Martinez Rivera, where the riders are flat out and pushing the bikes and themselves to the limit. We’ll have plenty more riding videos like this throughout the race season, so keep your eye on the site for updates.

2011 Maxxis Cup Downhill International In Gouveia

Gouveia in Portugal is recognized by many as the unofficial season opener for international downhill racing, and Trek World Racing riders Tracy Moseley (GBR) and Neko Mulally (USA) decided to use the event as an important ramp up to the start of the World Cup season next month. Tracy took the win in the Women's category, proudly wearing the rainbow jersey of the reigning World Champ, and Neko won the Juniors and also took 2nd place overall in Scratch.
The track in Gouveia is notorious for the high speed rocky sections throughout, and during the week it claimed many riders, bikes and wheels. Tracy crashed in training yesterday when she had a front wheel wash out and she landed heavily on a large boulder, destroying her new custom painted helmet, but other than some soreness, was good to go for racing today. Neko survived a spectacular high speed crash on his final training run, after misjudging a landing slightly, and landed hard and fast onto a large pointed rock, destroying the rear wheel and sending him over the handlebars in a cloud of dust. He too destroyed a brand new custom helmet, but walked away from the crash with little more than bruising and scraping.

2012 Magura Brakes

MAGURA is starting 2012 with a totally new development in its brake models.
Complete makeover for brake lever
The newly developed Carboflow process delivers massive savings in lever weight by using short to medium length carbon fibres in a thermoplastic matrix. The new process has also resulted in a design profile that allows the reservoir to be integrated extremely unobtrusively. Also new is the option of fitting the same brake lever to the left or right on the handlebar. This is supported by the use of a divided handlebar clamp for ultra-fast fitting and removal. The trigger shifter or the new Magura remote lever is quick and easy to fit using the two optional “Shiftmix” and “Remotemix” clamps.
Filling the brakes is a clean procedure using a T25 EBT bolt. All the other bolts have likewise been standardised to T25 which in turn allows the brakes to be fully fitted and adjusted using just one tool.
