SR Suntour Launches North American Subsidiary

Suspension and component manufacturer SR Suntour is pleased to announce the establishment of SR Suntour North America. This new subsidiary will be based in Vancouver, WA. Darrell Voss who has led SR Suntour's US activities for the past eleven years will be Director of this new venture and will oversee all of the company's activities in North America as well as being an integral part of the global company's product development activities.

An important factor behind the establishment of this new company is SR Suntour's ambition to build and broaden its business in the aftermarket. Currently, as the industry's largest suspension manufacturer, approximately 90% of the company's production goes to OEM sales.

To drive the aftermarket business, SR Suntour has hired Doug Stuart (pictured) FSA's former president, to manage aftermarket sales and marketing in North America. Since leaving FSA in 2006, Stuart established Corsair Bikes, a high-end full suspension bicycle brand. Having recently sold Corsair Bikes, Stuart will bring his experience in executing successful dealer, distributor and marketing programs to SR Suntour.

"The way this company has built a very robust vertically integrated manufacturing base is truly impressive. When combined with an effective sales and marketing strategy, its easy to understand that the investment on the manufacturing side represents a rock solid foundation for the future growth of the SR Suntour brand", said Doug Stuart.

About the Company:

The roots of today's SR Suntour date back to 1912 when freewheel maker Maeda Industries was established. Over the decades a number of mergers occurred between Maeda Industries, Mori Industries, Sakae Ringyo (SR) and Suntour. In 1987 chairman Daisuke Kobayashi and the management team of SR moved the company to Taiwan and finally in 1995 the SR Suntour company of today was formalized.

SR Suntour operates three factories located in Chung Hua, Taiwan, Shen Zhen, China and Kunshan, China. These factories are vertically integrated for aluminum and magnesium casting and forging, drawing, CNC machining, spring manufacturing, and final painting, finishing and assembly. With it's headquarters in Chung Hua, Taiwan, SR Suntour also operates a sales and service office and warehouse based in the Munich Germany area.
